The main attraction of the renovation, which lasted five months, is the
infinity pool , which now has a "small beach" dedicated to children and a spa area. This modernization is part of a wide-ranging renovation project, considered the most significant in the hotel's history.

Associated with a Brazilian chain and the only hotel on the Copacabana waterfront that belongs to its founders, the Rio Othon Palace also highlights its Brazilian character in the architectural elements of the renovation.
The project incorporates national materials, such as Emerald Green quartzite , present in the largest and highest infinity pool in Copacabana.

“The rooftop provides an exclusive environment, with a breathtaking view of the most iconic beach in the world. Since 2021, we have been presenting significant renovations to this unit, with the rooftop project being one of the most impactful transformations. We doubled the size of the pool and moved it to the tip of the building to create the highest infinity edge in Rio de Janeiro,” comments
Jorge Chaves , commercial and operations director of Rede Othon.

“The combination of
natural materials, earthy tones, organic shapes and tropical vegetation guided the entire project, with every detail designed to create a welcoming and warm atmosphere, without taking away from the spectacular view of Copacabana beach. Since the hotel is 100% Brazilian, our choices also celebrate Brazilianness. Overall, the décor of the spaces reflects the unpretentious elegance of the people of Rio,” explains architect
Pedro Kastrup , partner at PKB Arquitetura.

The previously unused space, located on a floor above the rooftop, is now accessible by stairs and elevator and has been transformed into a large
solarium . Guests can now enjoy more space and comfort to relax and enjoy this postcard, with a bar and sun loungers strategically placed to optimize the leisure experience.

Located on the rooftop, the
Skylab restaurant was also completely renovated by PKB Arquitetura to become a destination for haute cuisine.
