After a year and a half of work, the Apple store in Milan, designed by architect Norman Foster, has opened. Apple Piazza Liberty has revitalized a square in the center of the commune. The project, which includes a large public square and a store below brings Apple's latest retail design to Italy for the first time.
Just off Corso Vittorio Emanuele, one of Milan’s most popular pedestrian streets, visitors will find a glass fountain that serves as a gateway to the store and a backdrop to the large outdoor amphitheater. The fountain’s water flows abundantly into the transparent walls: 56 continuous jets reaching up to 8 m in height.
Apple Piazza Liberty will also host Today at Apple , free presentations on photography, filmmaking, music creation, coding, design and more, aimed at fostering creativity in all attendees. The store will host a Today at Apple event in September this year. Milan Series special, in which 21 local artists will share their visions for the city's creative future.
After descending a cantilevered stone and metal staircase to the store below, visitors are greeted by a team of 230 employees, many of whom come to Milan from Apple stores around the world.
