The corner in Tokyo occupied by
Louis Vuitton since 1981 received a
complete renovation by the hands of architects
Jun Aoki and
Peter Marino . The newly designed store in the Ginza district reopened on Saturday, March 20th.
The most impressive aspect of the renovation is the
facade : completely transformed, it has curved glass that produces infinite color variations and creates a
three-dimensional effect that resembles the
movement of water .
Inside, the focal point is a
central staircase carved from oak and framed by glass. Connecting all seven floors, the staircase appears
to reinforce the organic appearance of the building. In the retail area, the flowing sensation of waterways extends to the
countertops and curved ceiling panels .
The acid tone furniture is designed by names such as
Pierre Paulin and
Stefan Leo . A wall that spans four floors displays a
reinterpretation of a painting by Kimiko Fujimura. Additionally, on the upper levels, a lounge has been dedicated exclusively to VIP guests, as well as a culinary experience at
Le Café V – which celebrates chef
Yosuke Suga 's second collaboration with the
maison .
