Central Galeria, in partnership with Escola da Cidade, is holding a wall auction in favor of IABsp - Brazilian Institute of Architects - São Paulo for the XII International Architecture Biennial of São Paulo. The event starts today (21) and runs until November 25. For this edition, the auction will feature more than 75 artists, who will make their works available at up to 70% of the market value.
Works by great names in Brazilian contemporary art, including Lenora de Barros (Milan), Jac Leirner (Fortes d'Aloia), Sérgio Sister (Nara Roesler), Guto Lacaz (Marcelo Guarnieri), Paulo Pasta (Milan) and Ana Elisa Egreja (Rudder).
Two neighboring spaces on Rua General Jardim, in Vila Buarque, are simultaneously housing the works for sale. Some of the paintings and installations will be on display at the headquarters of the IAB-SP, an important building of modern architecture in São Paulo. The basement of the listed building In the 1950s and 1960s, it housed the “Clubinho”, a bar frequented by artists and intellectuals such as Lygia Fagundes Telles, Flávio de Carvalho, Rubem Braga and Tarsila do Amaral. Today, in the same basement, is the headquarters of the Central Galeria, which promotes auction.
