A space associated with comfort and nature, the country house is a refuge for many who long for moments of peace and tranquility, escaping from the busy life of big cities. In this project, revitalize and renew were the words of the day and, thus, , the renovation led by the Korman Arquitetos office, led by architects Ieda and Carina Korman, who are part of the CASACOR team, transformed this 940 m² country house into an even more cozy and inviting place for the family. Located in the municipality of Itu , in the interior of São Paulo, the country house conveys, at first glance, an imposing façade under a splendid blue sky. The front of the old house was completely revamped; garapeira wood panels were integrated. (Eduardo Pozella/CASACOR)
In the entrance garden, the landscaping project was signed by landscaper Catê Poli , also part of the CASACOR team, who chose to keep the existing palm trees and mix other species such as congeia, bela-emília-branca, zamioculca, myrtle, moreia-branca, ipê -white, phoenix and clusia, among others, to make the atmosphere even more pleasant. For the entrance hall, architect Carina Korman recalls that the house already had a double-height ceiling , an attribute that made the building perfect for using larger works of art to fill the space. “We tried to create a hall, in the style of a hotel entrance , with a lot of personality. We explored a lot of artistic pieces and, to top it off, a very decorative chandelier, with LED rings, immediately catches the attention of those who enter the house. The result was wonderful.” !”, she says proudly. (Eduardo Pozella/CASACOR)
“A very interesting solution for this integration was that, after removing the wall that ended the house, we used the pillar to build a sculptural fireplace that now divides the living room from the TV room. This element will be very useful on winter nights. ” , when the family can get together to watch a movie and warm up together,” explained Carina Korman. (Eduardo Pozella/CASACOR)
With a splendid view of the garden, the master bedroom was designed in neutral and sober colors to provide lightness. “We used white in the paint and carpentry, in a large part of the room, to create that clean look , after all, it is a house designed essentially for relaxation,” said Carina. In terms of composition, the main focus of the suite is the bathroom : completely renovated and expanded , the room has a Roman travertine marble countertop and wood-effect porcelain tiles that extend from the floor to the walls. It also has an outdoor area with a freestanding bathtub and wood-effect stone cladding. typical of the Itu region. (Eduardo Pozella/CASACOR)
Still not content with just the main part of the country house, the architects envisioned, where there was nothing, an annex with a gourmet area , saunas, spa and living spaces. Built to be a glass box , the area is completely immersed in the landscape and has views of both the house and the forest. (Eduardo Pozella/CASACOR)
