The artificial intelligence is redefining the way architects design, plan, and relate to spaces. If digital tools previously served only to model or render, now they learn from data, suggest solutions, and help predict environmental and behavioral impacts with unprecedented precision.

More than a technical resource, AI has become a strategic ally in the creative process of architects. Yara Elias, Gabriel Rosa, and Guto Requena are some of the professionals from CASACOR who have embraced technology in their routines – expanding their possibilities for experimentation, reducing task times, and stimulating new ways of thinking about architecture.

Are architects advocates of Artificial Intelligence in their projects?

In an interview with CASACOR, the three architects affirm that AI tools are an integral part of their work. “I’ve already used it in the creative process. I think it’s common to have blockages sometimes during this stage. Tight deadlines and creative blocks are not a good combination and, in this case, an edited prompt a few times can be an option,” says Yara Elias.

Gabriel Rosa recalls that, in fact, he had AI as an ally in developing his project for CASACOR SP 2025. “In the beginning, all the images were generated through AI. This made it easier for both my audience and the curation [of CASACOR] to understand the message I wanted to convey about the experience of Black people with wine. I was able to position myself clearly before having a 100% finished project.”

In which stages does artificial intelligence prove useful in architecture?

The architects' responses are as diverse as possible regarding the applications of AI in architecture. Guto Requena cites its uses to assist in the composition of plans, project visualization, personal organization, and even floor pagination. “Artificial intelligence is part of the company's daily life today,” he points out.

For his part, Gabriel also uses the tool to ‘clean’ the clients’ briefings and expedite social media posts. Yara reserves her uses of AI for internal processes in architecture, but she assures: “I know I explore AI little considering what it has to offer me, but every time I used it was aiming to optimize my time and organize my ideas.”

And how have clients dealt with the modernization of work?

A curiosity brought up by the CASACOR professionals is that their clients rarely show strangeness regarding the use of artificial intelligence in architecture – on the contrary, many reveal that they are proponents of the tools! “Many of them already come to the office with ideas of what they want, and I think that's positive. AIs bring a democratic way for clients to show what they like. Architecture offices will need to adapt to this,” Guto opines.

On the contrary, Yara exposes a concern regarding clients' uses: “I already see some clients using AI to express their expectations, ideas, and desires. I don’t see a problem with that, but I’m concerned when this type of client tries to dictate the rules of the project through a simulation.”

Artificial Intelligence x Authorial Intelligence: how to balance?

The practical experiences of the interviewees – in addition to many other architects who are advocates of artificial intelligence – do not deny the power of the tools to optimize processes. However, a significant impasse that remains in the area is how to balance these uses with human sensitivity.

Yara Elias - Baby Room Cave. Project of CASACOR São Paulo 2025.
“I think it’s important to always maintain human contact with my client. Always valuing good service, a good presentation of the project, a good explanation… In short, welcome them in a way that no artificial intelligence or robot could serve,” concludes Gabriel Rosa. While Guto Requena highlights the importance of affection, Yara Elias finishes: “We can even create new programs and algorithms. But I don’t think it’s possible for any result to replace the relationship between client and architect, capable of designing even what wasn’t spoken.” [abril-veja-tambem]W3siaWQiOjIxMjU1NiwidGl0bGUiOiJQYXZpbGgmI3hFMztvIGRvIEJyYXNpbCBjb25xdWlzdGEgcHImI3hFQTttaW8gaW50ZXJuYWNpb25hbCBuYSBFeHBvIE9zYWthIn0seyJpZCI6MjExODQ1LCJ0aXRsZSI6Ik1peCBkZSBtYXRlcmlhaXM6IDcgY29tYmluYSYjeEU3OyYjeEY1O2VzIHNvZmlzdGljYWRhcyBuYSBhcnF1aXRldHVyYSBjb250ZW1wb3ImI3hFMjtuZWEifSx7ImlkIjoyMTA3NzMsInRpdGxlIjoiQXJxdWl0ZXR1cmEgc2Vuc29yaWFsOiA4IGlkZWlhcyBwYXJhIHVtYSBkZWNvcmEmI3hFNzsmI3hFMztvIHF1ZSBleHBsb3JhIG9zIHNlbnRpZG9zIn1d
