Escapism is the name that writers gave, during the 19th century, to the desire to escape from routine and get away from obligations, in order to rediscover oneself in a bucolic, rural landscape. This same principle is used in country houses , a refuge far from the city where it is possible to enjoy the silence amidst cozy decor, which envelops the resident in the warmth of simple materials, such as wood. Whether as a cabin or a chalet, the idea of a country house is to enjoy the vast natural landscape without giving up good architecture and design. Below, we have listed six country houses of different styles where comfort is essential. Check it out!
Architecture and nature merge
In a gated community in São Paulo, the MP House residence designed by Arthur Casas was built on a steeply sloping lot. With a total area of almost 1,000 m², the house was designed to be fully integrated with the landscape, thus using glass swing gates in the lower volume. Natural fibers and warm tones envelop the entire house – which plays with verticality and horizontality to merge architecture and landscape. The interior design mixes iconic pieces by Jorge Zalszupin with authentic Brazilian craftsmanship.
An inner forest
At
CASACOR São Paulo 2014,
Sig Bergamin took integration with nature to another level with this country house. Plant species of the most varied colors, sizes and foliage bring life to a very welcoming balcony, enclosed by a glass roof. Inside, the interior design is full of textures and prints. Exuberant and warm, the living room features art objects, such as paintings and books, to create a collector's item. The cozy light wood coverings serve as a backdrop to all this.
A breathtaking view
Like a loft that evokes memories and gives the feeling of being at home,
Paola Ribeiro 's project for
CASACOR São Paulo 2016 is the perfect transcription of the mountain climate. Rustic furniture, in wood and green lacquer, pairs with the decor full of details, with books, porcelain and flower vases. Printed fabrics warm the space and the only partition is made of mirrored glass that hides the bathroom. In the Loft no Campo, the meeting point is around the large counter that starts as a support for the cooktop, becomes a sink and reaches the home office.
Wood for heating
Wood, highlighted as a favorite material, reappears in different functions in Mara Chap Chap ’s country house. In panels, on the dining table, on the ceiling and on the floor, wood is responsible for bringing a familiarity to the house located in a gated community just a few minutes from the capital of São Paulo. “I used a lot of wood in the coverings and furniture to warm up the minimalist architectural project designed by Marcio Kogan,” says architect Mara Chap Chap, responsible for the interior design.
Sophistication over the mountains
The minimalist volumes of Roberto Migotto 's residence immediately stand out from the mountainous landscape of Matozinhos, in Belo Horizonte. The entire project is geared towards this setting through large glass openings, which favor the lighting and circulation of air in the interior spaces. On the ground floor, the 4.30-meter ceiling height surprises the eye. With spacious and integrated spaces, the residence without excess was designed to host large events. The contemporary decor is composed by big names in Italian and Brazilian design.[newsletter]
