Among the professionals who participated in the competition was
Guto Requena – from the
CASACOR cast – with an interesting and important proposal for the pavilion concept. Alongside the PAX.ARQ office, the partnership proposed
The Ground Floor and the Diversity Square . In the project, Access to the pavilion would be in the center of the building, where the abundant incidence of natural light would invite visitors to enter. They would be welcomed by sculptures, immersed in a reflecting pool representing the Amazon River. A section would be dedicated to registered products in open source, the result of a competition held at Brazilian Universities.
These products would be freely available for reproduction without commercial purposes, with their designs available to be produced in any
fablab or
makerspace , such as a collection of laser-cut benches, or 3D-printed decorative objects. The store would seek to convey through its products the meeting of new technologies with craftsmanship, to together build a responsible and intriguing future.
