On March 6, Ghana, a country located on the west coast of Africa, celebrated its 61st anniversary of independence from the United Kingdom. At the commemorative ceremony, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo unveiled the plans for the new National Cathedral, designed by Adjaye Associates, a firm headed by British/Ghanaian architect Sir David Adjaye. In addition to the numerous chapels, the complex will include an auditorium, a music school, an art gallery, a museum dedicated to the Bible and a Documentation Center.
