The project for the bakery La Boulangerie 306 Sul, developed by the Bloco Arquitetos office, by partners Henrique Coutinho, Matheus Seco, and Daniel Mangabeira, and cast of CASACOR Brasília, is located in one of the store blocks in the commercial quadrants of Asa Sul, in Brasília. These blocks have front awnings over leveled sidewalks, connecting the stores to "extended awnings" at the ends. These structures form wide covered verandas over the public circulation area.

The project uses part of the public covered veranda as a dining area, referencing the traditional "sidewalk tables" of restaurants in traditional cities. The internal space of the store is reserved for kitchens, restrooms, playroom, event room, and display window – one of the main highlights of the project. Its layout is divided into two complementary parts, visible from the external area.

The product display counter is facing the veranda, while the internal shelves are accessible to customers via a corridor, which is also visible from the veranda. In this way, customers can "cross" the display window and the internal space of the store, choosing what they want, as if they were on the inside of a traditional bakery counter.

The materiality resulting from the artisanal construction process refers to the very artisanal production process of the bakery. Therefore, the traces of the construction process of the concrete façade were left apparent. Inside, two materials predominately feature: natural wood on the doors, frames, and furniture, and exposed concrete present on the floor and façade finishes. The concrete was molded "in loco" over the background walls.

In the external area, all sidewalks and verandas were covered with the same type of ceramic flooring similar to that found in some stores in the region. The arrangement of the furniture in this space allows free access for pedestrians, without blockages.

Next to the tables, a garden with shrubs adapted to the local climate was included, designed by landscape architect Ana Paula Rosio. The public garden, situated between the store and the street, was "adopted" and cared for by the bakery.

“BLOCO Arquitetos manages to capture the expectations, personality, functionality, and dreams of the client, transforming all of this into a project of planned projects where quality of life and well-being meet and walk together for a long time,” says Guillaume, the owner of La Boulangerie 306 Sul.
