Located in the Itaim Bibi neighborhood of São Paulo, the
Casa Brasileira Itaim project was designed by the
PSA Arquitetura collective of architects in
homage to the masters of modern Brazilian architecture . The building stands out for one characteristic: it is supported by
Y-shaped pillars that make it float
19 meters above the ground .
The high-end project, built with a slender concrete sheet and a slightly rotated mezzanine, features two main volumes: the
building and the leisure and wellness block , separated by a
tropical garden .
According to Pablo Slemenson and Daniel Tesser, architects at PSA Arquitetura, the identity of Casa Brasileira Itaim began to emerge when considering the
privileged location of the 70-meter plot of land facing Adolfo Tabacow Street, one of the
most valued streets in the neighborhood .
The building is
60 meters long, 90 meters high and has an area of 650 m² . The entire infrastructure was designed to ensure maximum safety, including a
simulation that evaluates the performance of the structure in the event of windstorms. Sustainability was also an issue for the architects.
Reused water systems and solar panels were adopted to heat the pool and the
water used inside the units. On the north façade, the dark London-style brick blends harmoniously with other materials, in addition to having
thermoacoustic performance .
At the entrance to the building, as there was no space to install a
porte-cochère , a square was created for cars on the lower ground floor and an
exposed concrete walkway for pedestrians, connecting the entrance to the condominium to the common areas.
