To create the feeling of being completely at home, Moacir Schmitt Jr. and Salvio Moraes Jr. found the balance in architecture, art and objects with history. In the 2019 edition of CASACOR SP , the duo from Studio CASAdesign presents CASA OAK | 02 , a complete residence of 185 m². The ceiling and all the walls were covered in natural oak veneers. And it is precisely this striking feature that gives the project its name: OAK.

Everything awakens the desire to live in this space, starting with the way the professionals incorporated the memory of the place in a creative way. The new 60 m² of built area met the iconic marquees of the Jockey Club of São Paulo. This made room for a large living room, kitchen with integrated dining room, suite and an outdoor garden that reinforces the refuge atmosphere. In the living room, the mashrabiya frames the scenes. The Arabic latticework delimits the spaces, leaving the way free for natural light and ventilation. The furniture has a minimalist feel, with balanced proportions. Light fabrics, natural wood veneers and pieces in Rustic wood breaks the industrial look, making the environment more welcoming.

The kitchen is integrated, and the woodwork in straight lines ensures a clean look. At the back, the cabinets house larger appliances, such as the oven and refrigerator.

Exploring the concept of sustainability, the professionals made extensive use of natural light, using very few LED lighting points to generate energy savings. In addition, all the wood present in the space is certified. The construction is dry, with drywall.

The oak veneers on the walls and ceiling have a light, almond-colored hue that warms up the space. The material contrasts with the porcelain floor with irregular edges. It has the appearance of a limestone originally from Belgium - it has such an intense blue that the eye confuses it with black or variations in dark gray. Note that the generous bar unit is an extension of the kitchen counter. The element promotes visual integration with the dining room.

The suite was positioned on the opposite side of the kitchen. The corrugated metal plates are a reused material. They were used in the partitions of the bedroom and bathroom, giving an industrial look.

The wood brings a very welcome visual comfort, warming the bathroom in the ceiling slats and in the precisely designed carpentry.
