The request was simple: the couple wanted
a country house with a country home feel . A simple and elegant place where they could spend the weekends and enjoy their retirement nearby. Architects Bitty Talbot and Cecília Teixeira, from the firm
Brise Arquitetura , faced the challenge from the beginning: on the 5,000 m² plot of land in Petrópolis (RJ), the 480 m² construction was completed in about a year - the work was even accelerated due to the pandemic. The duo has two participation in
CASACOR Rio de Janeiro .

The house is divided into three blocks and its heart is in the central block:
the kitchen integrated into the balcony of the gourmet area . “The concept of the project was that it would be a transparent house within the land, with spaces integrated with each other and with the garden. To achieve this, we made the blocks separate and used large windows and glass enclosures to bring the outside into the house. The clients loved this idea,” says Cecilia.

With green lower cabinets standing out, the kitchen was designed especially for the client, who loves to cook:
it is completely open to the dining room and has a central island, where people can sit down and interact while preparing meals .

“
The entire house has the same floor, a light gray porcelain tile . The idea was for it to be very practical, simple and easy to maintain. The palette is based on natural colors, since the large windows bring nature inside.” house: we used green in the lacquer on the kitchen cabinets and wooden furniture in the living room and gourmet kitchen. In addition, we used some furniture from the residents’ collection”, says Bitty.

The
bedrooms have greater privacy, but remain integrated with the external area through doors that open outwards from the house. “We created a passage between the blocks of the social and private areas as if it were a transparent corridor, with glass on the sides and on the ceiling, with a straw roof. Through there, you can also access the pool garden”, describes Bitty.
