Located on a corner lot, just one block from
Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas (RJ), the
Edifício Lineu is designed by the
Cité Arquitetura office (from the
CASACOR Rio de Janeiro) and stands out for its unique connection to the landscape and for valuing the historical and natural elements of the region.
The project offers
privileged views of both Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas and Christ the Redeemer, a factor that guided the design of the apartments and the architecture of the building.
Inspired by the local history, the project brings back the memory of the land where the building is located, which before being filled in was part of the Lagoon itself. The reflections of the water and the
shades of blue characteristic of the neighborhood – present in the
modernist tiles of the Hospital da Lagoa, adjacent to the project and designed by Oscar Niemeyer, and in the historical constructions of the
Hípica and the local villas – served as a reference for the color palette. The use of natural stones, sourced locally, reinforces the integration of the building with the projects.
The
glazed facade, with balconies all around that extend the residence outdoors, allows the building to make the most of natural light and the reflections of the landscape, creating an interesting interplay of lighting.
Aluminum profiles were added as an aesthetic and functional detail, anticipating the use of glass curtains by residents and ensuring the preservation of the facade design.
The lighting was planned with special care, harmonizing elements of the facade, such as the ceiling of the balconies, the railings, and the guardrails. The result is a continuous and elegant visual composition that enhances the aesthetic of the building.
The common areas, located on the ground floor, were designed to ensure the privacy of the residents. This functional necessity gave rise to the creation of a lattice that goes beyond its practical purpose, transforming into an artistic element. The lattice features a mural signed by the artist
Alexandre Mancini, inspired by the traditional tiles of the Hospital da Lagoa, bringing art to the city.
Each floor houses two
spacious apartments, with more than 200 m², all with direct views of Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas, from the glass corner of the living room, and of Christ the Redeemer in the bedrooms, designed to make the most of the longitudinal position of the land.
Functional aspects were also considered in the project, such as flexibility, allowing for integration between
kitchen and
living room. Thinking about environmental comfort and efficiency, most of the bathrooms prioritized natural ventilation. External elements such as railings and slanted walls at the corner of the building conceal the service areas, maintaining harmonious proportions of the building.
