Designed and built from scratch by architect
Roby Macedo , this
beach chalet measuring just
60 m² is located in a 1000 m² public area, without walls, on
Praia do Patacho (in Porto de Pedras, Alagoas), and makes maximum use of the local nature.

“Since our offices are in São Luís (MA) and São Paulo, we took a trip to Alagoas to research the typical materials in the region, such as
rustic stones and local wood , which became the main elements of the project,” says Roby. “Overall, the clients wanted a compact chalet with contemporary architecture and beachy decor to spend weekends at the beach,” he adds.

With a very simple internal division (composed of a
living room with integrated
kitchen ,
bathroom with skylight and
bedroom with balcony) and
nine rotating vertical brise-soleils (with natural wood frames and transparent glass closure)
that spread across almost the entire front façade and one of the sides of the house,
the architectural project was executed in reinforced concrete , with natural coverings, especially stone and wood.

The decor follows a
rustic-contemporary style , with a predominance of
beige, sand and gray tones, and furniture made from natural materials, especially bamboo fiber and rustic wood. “We made a point of using objects and ornaments from local artisans,” Roby emphasizes.

With a black metal structure in a helical shape, the staircase installed on the side of the façade was designed by the architect and adds a touch of contemporary style to the architectural ensemble, dominated by rustic materials. “It provides access to the upper part of the house, where a
hot tub and a living area with a
lookout point with a stunning view of Patacho Beach were installed. It’s a perfect space to slow down and relax,” he concludes.
