The structure draws attention from afar. The CASACOR Duratex Store by Armazém do Marton – an 80 m² space with over six thousand products focused on creative economy, design and lifestyle – has gained a 25 m² green roof that poetically represents , the theme of the exhibition in 2018:The Living House .

The idea, according to José Marton, is that the space would resemble a greenhouse and refer to the cultivation of life. But anyone who thinks that the store will have high temperatures is mistaken: the environment is fully ventilated and does not even need air conditioning. This is what happens. because there is a blanket between the tiles and the lining to ensure the thermal comfort of the building.

As sustainability is a hallmark of Marton Estúdio’s work, it was this concern that guided the entire store project. “We work a lot with scenography, so we are concerned with minimizing the impact of waste on the environment at the end of the project. And This is a concern of the exhibition too!”, comments José Marton.

The store was created entirely from a wooden structure, which can be completely dismantled and reassembled elsewhere. “The wood is cut to the appropriate size for the space and the planks are glued together. This construction system is widely used in the United States and Europe, but it is not yet so common in Brazil”, he explains. “In this type of work, you save a lot of assembly time. It is a very quick and simple type of construction”, he reveals.

The idea of dismantling is not new to Marton Estúdio. In the last edition of CASACOR in 2017, its team took the store, with all the original raw materials, to Shopping Villa Lobos after the end of the exhibition. The project even won two categories of the 5th RDI Brazil Retail Design Award in 2017: sustainability and pop-up store. Marton explains that this is one of the studio's main concerns regarding its retail projects. “The concern with disposal, today, is urgent” , reflects. CASACOR SERVICE SAO PAULO 2018 WHEN?
