Casarão no Jardim Botânico vai sediar a edição especial de 30 anos da CASACOR Rio.

Recover, revitalize, renew: this has been the focus of the special edition of CASACOR Rio de Janeiro for its 30th anniversary . The team of architects, interior designers and landscapers took a special look at the house that is hosting this edition and is taking advantage of each of the many architectural details of the space. From the solid wood baseboards to the luxurious chandeliers. From the latticework on the bathroom doors to the rosewood and marble floors. From the decorated ceilings to the Murano glass doorknobs with unique designs for each of the doors of the Brando Barbosa Residence .

Elements such as marble floors, skirting boards, portals and stained glass windows are being revitalized and will be kept as they were originally by the CASACOR Rio cast.

"At a time when resources are scarce on the planet, it is important to have this focus on sustainability, and this house provides that. Here, every little detail was thought out, planned and acquired by the previous owners. They are beautiful pieces produced with resistant and noble materials that are being very well used by our cast", says Patricia Quentel, managing partner of the show together with Patricia Mayer.

In the Guest Suite, a space designed by the architect duo Ângela Leite Barbosa and Daniel Marques Mendes, preservation will be total. "We are producing the least amount of waste possible, with practically no demolition and the reuse of floors, ceilings, cabinets, and original tiles. , Murano glass door handles, doors, skirting boards and windows with carpentry carvings", says Ângela, who also brings the concept of biophilia to the show, thinking about environmental comfort and integration with nature in the house that is surrounded by 12 thousand m² of garden .

The gardens, in fact, promise to be among the most sought-after spaces at CASACOR Rio de Janeiro. One of them, the Sculpture Courtyard, will receive a special intervention by architect Ivan Rezende in partnership with Embya Paisagismo. It will, in fact, be a space for contemplation surrounded by a structure built with plastic supports and recyclable chipboard sheets that keep the existing grassy soil preserved and can still be reused after the show.

The duo Andréa Duarte and Anna Malta went even further and will keep part of their space exactly the same. Precisely to allow the public to see part of the house as it is: the small hall that leads to the kitchen of the house will remain original. The kitchen is being transformed by the architects into a living room kitchen. There, all the cabinets are being preserved and painted to give it a more contemporary look.

Industrial refrigerators from the space were also kept. Only one, which was in no condition to be used, was dismantled, but some of its parts will be used to create a bar – this is one of the many upcycles created by the professionals in this edition. "We are taking advantage of of all the elements that exist: the white marble floor will be cleaned and polished, the tiles, the moldings, the doors and windows, everything will stay", says Anna. "We will use original pieces from the house as ornaments, such as soup tureens, glass jars flowers, plates, glasses".

Architects Catarina Gouvêa Vieira and Manu Cardim promise few contemporary interventions in the guest bathroom with hall. The vaulted ceiling, for example, will be maintained.

Another duo that has been working on the contrast between the old and the contemporary is Catarina Gouvêa Vieira and Manu Cardim. Making their debut at CASACOR Rio de Janeiro , the two architects are making a few changes to the house's guest bathroom with hall, which opens onto the garden.

Works by young artists and some more contemporary pieces – including an oratory by architect Dado Castello Branco in an allusion to the history of the house, which has many works of sacred art and original pieces from convents and churches in the interior of the country – will ensure the appreciation of the architecture. original part of the mansion. "We really wanted to take advantage of the house, enhancing the environment. We could never hide such rich details as the vaulted ceiling and that super-ornate hall", says Manu.
