On a plateau on the land and between two trees, this house in Serra das Araras (RJ) was designed by architect
Andrea Chicharo due to the
spectacular view of the mountains . From any of the five
bedrooms and the entire social area, it is there, splendid, blending into the architecture of the property, designed in such a way as not to harm the landscape.
Two trees of the Alligator species delimited the space of the property. Built in blocks with different levels, the house belongs to a family made up of a mother and two young children. The three family bedrooms are on the second floor of the house and, in addition to the open view of the green,
the roof paneling was kept well exposed, without plaster ceilings that hide the beauty of the architecture.
The two guest suites are on the first floor, as is the entire social area. In a straight line and fully integrated, the living room, barbecue and
balcony face the view of the mountains and can be separated by sliding doors that, when opened, are embedded in the walls.
"This intervention in the social space is the highlight of the project because, at the same time that the spaces are fully integrated, they are well separated. So, if there is a large group at the barbecue or in the pool, for example, this does not interfere with someone who is in the living room watching TV", says Andrea.
The decor mixes rustic furniture, typical of houses in the Serra, with signature design pieces, such as the classic
Charles Eames armchair, upholstered with cowhide, and the bold Clip bookcase by
Jader Almeida , which also brings a point of color to the project. , characterized by the use of neutral tones and materials such as cement, steel and wood.
Cumaru covers the steps of the floating staircase located in the hall of the house and is also present in furniture, in the bathrooms and in the paneling in the dining room. The wood still appears on the floors of the rooms. Most of the frames were made of
peroba-mica and part of the facade was made of
stone .
In the annex, the combination of
steel and glass stands out. The concrete used in the structure is visible on almost the entire ceiling of the house's social area and is also used to cover the floor, walls and furniture – such as the rack in the living room – and on a bench created in the large window that separates the barbecue from the pool.
Among the rustic elements in the architecture, the most unusual is the hoe stick: placed under the glass on the balcony roof, in addition to allowing natural light to enter, it creates a charming shadow effect in the environment. Bathrooms and
kitchen have different floors, with
hydraulic tiles . In the kitchen, the combination of custom cabinets in vibrant yellow with concrete also draws attention. The built-in hutch, also in concrete and designed by Andrea, has a perforated corten steel screen.
For leisure, Andrea chose to bring the pool to the front of the land, precisely to complete the entire space dedicated to fun. The detail there is the covering in hijau, a Balinese stone that gives a greenish, almost lagoon-like color to the water.
To the left is the annex with sauna, jacuzzi and party room. Joining the house and the annex, a cumaru deck was built surrounding one of the trees used to delimit the space of the house.
