Located in Terras de São José, in Itu (SP), this residence was designed for a couple with children and grandchildren who were looking for a residence that could serve both as a leisure and living space. The project is by the
Gilda Meirelles Arquitetura office.
Facing the admirable forest that coincides with the
north face of the residence – considered by the architects to be the best face –, the project was conceived in such a way that all the
rooms faced the forest , creating the sensation that the house was isolated in the middle of the forest.
Large glass windows help to connect the spaces, providing a
feeling of spaciousness and further connecting the house with its exterior. In addition, the large glass panels allow
natural light to enter the house, making it even more welcoming.
Among the materials designed to bring the natural interior even closer are
stone ,
wood and
clay tiles . Among the challenges faced by the architecture firm in the project, the biggest one was the
slope of the land , which was solved by creating volumes with different heights. In this way, the house was divided into two parts: one of them, containing two floors; and the other, the ground floor, being in the
middle floor of the house.
The leisure area has
a TV ,
barbecue ,
pizza oven and
wine cellar . All of these areas were created
attached to the main house , taking advantage of the fact that the plot is on a corner, thus making it possible to create an independent entrance to these areas.
Automation also played an essential role in the project, used mainly for social lighting and garden irrigation. Check out more photos of the project in the gallery below!
