Located in
Umuarama, in the interior of Paraná, this modernist style house, with contemporary solutions, was designed by Piúna Arquitetura for a couple and two dogs to retire and live
comfortably into old age.
The indoor and outdoor leisure areas have been
fully integrated. The core of the house has an open plan, under the exposed concrete slab that
connects all the layouts in this space and promotes close interaction with the activities that may take place there.
This area, which is the
heart of the house , opens onto the pool and
deck , which are projected into its external continuity. The relationship and
mutual coexistence of all these areas was a
special request from the client: a house to receive family and friends, cook and contemplate the outdoor space.
The suites, on the east façade, have
direct access to the garden and receive morning sunlight. This solved an issue that
worried the couple: good sunlight/
natural lighting and the separation of
private and
social use of the house, being on a single floor.
The use of
natural, timeless materials that “age” well over time is valued.
Exposed concrete , wood and natural stone are the main materials used.
The intention was
to repeat neutral tones that are present in nature , which interact with each other and structure a solid and timeless base, thus allowing objects and furniture
to vary over time and always be in
harmony with the
architecture .
The premises regarding
natural lighting and
ventilation adopted in the implementation of the project result in lower electricity consumption.
The large openings in the bedrooms and barbecue area, the
overhead lighting (hallway, bathroom, office, wardrobe and home theater) allow for the
use of sunlight throughout the day.
In addition, solar panels
heat the water in the
reservoir and pool, using solar energy.
