Casa DS, by Arthur Casas, is an architectural spectacle

The 750 m² residence designed by Ugo di Pace in the 1980s received a major renovation led by Arthur Casas , one of the biggest names in Brazilian architecture. Casa DS was renovated to serve a couple with grown-up children, who were looking for greater integration between the spaces. Occupying the entire narrow and deep lot, Casa DS was characterized as a robust construction, with few openings to the outside . In the original project, the emphasis was on cylindrical concrete columns, both on the front and back facades. During the renovation, Casas sought to redesign the living areas , a request that was highly highlighted by the client, who is used to receiving guests. Thus, the ground floor was divided between a block next to the street, housing a garage , kitchen and service areas ; and another further inside, with an integrated living and dining room , as well as a deck facing the back of the land.

Outside, the pool was also enlarged and created a 20-meter lane, which runs along the entire side of the house , suggesting visual continuity between the lower level.
