Casa da Mata, a project by Leo Romano that is competing for Building Of The Year 2021 , is located in a residential condominium in the city of Goiânia, in Goiás. It was built on a triangular plot of land, in which the longest edge is parallel to a native forest. In order to enhance the view and integrate the house and nature, the project was developed in an "L" shape, allowing all the rooms to open onto the internal patio, pool and forest.

The house is located at the highest point of the lot, respecting the natural landscape, and only minor earthworks were carried out to level the rooms above the pool area.

A concrete box extends in a cantilevered manner, showing a gap in the roof, bringing architecture and nature closer together. The "L"-shaped plan also allowed for perfect division between social, service, intimate and leisure spaces, all of which are permeated by gardens, openings for ventilation and natural lighting.

To further expand the landscape, a green roof was installed. This rooftop garden offers a pleasant place to enjoy full moon nights and late afternoons with an expanded view of the surroundings.
