A contemporary house designed by Aires Mateus in Portugal

Choosing between architecture and landscaping was not a question for the great contemporary architect Aires Mateus , who developed the project for a house located on the Alentejo Coast, in Portugal, amidst several pine trees. The space is generous: 633 m² built on a plot of land with a total area of 750 m² , which maintained the grandeur of the house but left an excellent circulation area. The shapes of the house draw attention. Its structure adapts perfectly to the vegetation present , and the entire space was designed to strategically receive natural light. Furthermore, the decoration has few elements, which makes the house even more spacious.

In the outdoor area, a pool with a triangular edge steals the show and stands out amidst the pine trees.

Manuel Rocha de Aires Mateus is 59 years old and is an important Portuguese architect, born in Lisbon, who develops contemporary architectural projects that explore the geometry of forms . The architect has already developed several impressive projects such as School in Vila Nova da Barquinha, the Havas Village Headquarters and Casa da Fontinha.
