As soon as they purchased two neighboring plots of land on a slope in a condominium in the city of Vespasiano (MG), a couple with three children met at the site with architect
Rogério da Fonseca , from the firm
RF Arquitetura , to have their first conversation about the project. of the house that would be built from scratch (
with 717 m² ) to be the family's new home.
“As the client is a party animal and loves to gather friends and relatives at home, he immediately asked me for a
generous leisure area, as well as two kitchens – one internal, integrated into the social area, and the other external, integrated into the balcony”, he says. Rogério.
On the ground floor, the architect created a blind facade facing the street, with the intention of protecting the owners' privacy, covering it with slatted wood that mimics two doors – one is the main entrance to the house and the other gives access to the home office. of the customer. The wall at the back of the garage, also facing the street, was covered with rustic soft stone, adding a new texture to the architectural complex, while also protecting the space from humidity from the
vertical garden installed directly behind.
On the second floor, slatted wooden patio doors overlap the glass doors that give access to the balcony, which, in addition to offering privacy, prevent the sun from overheating the spaces. “What the facade does not reveal at first appears unexpectedly through immense sliding glass panels that integrate the internal environments with the external garden and swimming pool”, points out the architect.
In the social area with an integrated kitchen, the architect opted for sober colors and materials – with a base made up of
shades of grey, beige and natural wood, and details in black –, such as the ceiling lining made of slatted tauari wood (which “warms up” the environment), the travertine marble on the floor (which brings sophistication) and the glass doors (which allow a wide view of the external area).
The concrete staircase was covered with demolition pink peroba boards . “The pure linen curtains and wool rugs, of Indian origin, added a touch of warmth and lightness to the environments”, adds Rogério.
In the external area – integrated by a balcony, gourmet space, garden, swimming pool, gym, bathroom, orchard and parking for four cars – the highlight is the
beehive-style pergola, with a glued laminated wood structure and a laminated glass roof. “The intention was to protect the balcony from rain and expand the gourmet space with a roof that was not visually heavy and still added beauty to the architectural complex. Furthermore, the glass lets light in and considerably reduces the temperature of the space”, says the architect. The furniture is low and in neutral tones of black and nude so as not to take away from the protagonism of the surrounding gardens.
