The boardwalk will be exclusively for pedestrians, with
landscaping and
a roof to protect people from the sun and rain. "It is a
requalification project for the neighborhood , which will provide more comfort and safety to businesses and customers," emphasizes the president of Fevabrás ( Federation of Retailers and Wholesalers of Brás),
Gustavo Dedivitis , whose affiliated retailers will finance the work.
In August 2021, the
City of São Paulo signed a cooperation agreement with Fevabrás to carry out the work. The decision regarding the occupation of the public space will be the sole responsibility of the municipal authority. "It is an important initiative by merchants to help the city ", said Mayor Ricardo Nunes at the time.
