Os projetos da CASACOR Ceará mostram como o bambu pode ser um símbolo de harmonia entre design, natureza e bem-estar (CASACOR/CASACOR)

In contemporary architecture, bamboo stands out for its unique combination of strength, flexibility, and aesthetic appeal. More than a sustainable material, it symbolizes a way of building in harmony with projects — a return to origins but with an eye toward the future. At CASACOR Ceará 2025, different projects show how bamboo can take on structural and decorative functions, translating a more conscious and affective way of living. In three projects — the Porch of the House, the Inclusive Playroom Sunflower, and the Bungalow Dune — the material appears interpreted from diverse perspectives: sometimes as a shelter for socializing, sometimes as support for inclusion, and sometimes as a symbol of a new balance between body and planet. In common, the desire to return to architecture the lightness and the time of nature.

Porch of the House – Fabricio Pereira and Roberta Pereira

Designed by Fabrício Pereira and Roberta Pereira, the Porch of the House retrieves one of the most symbolic spaces of Brazilian culture: the porch as a meeting point between the interior and the exterior. In this project, bamboo appears as a mediator of this relationship, filtering light, allowing ventilation, and giving an organic texture to the structure.

The use of the material reinforces the welcoming and poetic character of the project, which invites contemplation and rest. Thus, bamboo allows the view to pass through the house without barriers, while nature remains present in a subtle and constant way.

Inclusive Playroom Sunflower – Estar Urbano

Signed by the office Estar Urbano, by Laura Rios and Liana Feingold, the Inclusive Playroom Sunflower is conceived with the purpose of promoting the well-being of children through neuroarchitecture and accessibility. The project was developed for the Sunflower program by the City Hall of Fortaleza and combines functionality and poetry in every detail.

Bamboo appears as one of the structural elements that supports the playful and natural atmosphere of the project. Its texture and soft tone harmonize with furniture and lighting co-created by artisans from CeArt, in addition to sensory pieces designed by local designers. The result is a space that welcomes and stimulates, where bamboo acts as a bridge between design and affection.

Bungalow Dune – Julia Gasparini

In the Bungalow Dune, by Julia Gasparini, bamboo stops being just a constructive element and becomes architectural language. The structures developed by the company Bambugalô reflect a commitment to sustainability and the artisanal time of making. The project is a silent manifesto about inhabiting with consciousness.

(Felipe Petrovsky/CASACOR)

Combined with wooden floors and furniture, earthen walls, carnauba straw roofs, and interiors in natural fibers, bamboo shapes a space that enhances raw materiality and sensory comfort. The bungalow proposes a new relationship between architecture and landscape: instead of imposing itself on nature, it accompanies it.
