In much of the world,
architecture is seen as art – and certain projects around the world gain even more popularity when combined with the names of
great architects , already appreciated by the international community.
This is exactly what a study conducted by
money.co.uk sought to understand. The survey discovered
who the most popular architects in the world are based on the average number of searches for the architect's name on Google each month in more than 130 countries.
Architect Zaha Hadid leads the study
Topping the list in 84 (61%) of countries,
Zaha Hadid is by far the
most popular architect in the world , and when you look at her list of achievements, it’s not hard to see why. Dubbed the “queen of the curve,” her futuristic designs and geometric shapes have made her one of the most recognizable names in global architecture.
Throughout her career, Hadid has won numerous awards, including being
the first woman to receive the Pritzker Architecture Prize , as well as the first woman to individually receive the Royal Gold Medal from the Royal Institute of British Architects. Other achievements include winning the UK's most prestigious architecture award, the
Stirling Prize , in 2010 and 2011; and in 2012, she was made a Dame by Queen Elizabeth II for services to architecture.
