The
Traama Arquitetura office, led by architects
Amanda Saback and Ana Luiza Veloso – from
CASACOR Brasília – was tasked with designing and building this cozy and functional residence from scratch. The property is located in Arniqueiras, an administrative region of the Federal District.
The family, made up of a couple, their two adult children and two cats, wanted the house to include three suites, a guest room, living room, kitchen and integrated gourmet area. In addition, they requested a laundry room, a sauna and a swimming pool.
The highlight is the large glass openings that flood the property with natural light. The facades display a striking interplay between solids and voids, precisely aligned shapes and lines. On the main facade, the openings are integrated into the slats, providing a clean and private appearance at the entrance to the house. Meanwhile, the rear facade features large glazed surfaces, which facilitate the appreciation of the garden and the entry of natural light.
An important consideration in the design was the topography of the land, which did not have a steep slope. This condition allowed the building to be positioned closer to the access road, freeing up space for an optimized garden and leisure area.
The flow of the house begins with the option of two entrances: a service entrance that leads directly to the laundry room and kitchen, and a social entrance that smoothly leads residents to the living room or the stairs.
The strategic position of the stairs, right in front of the front door, speeds up access to the private area. The kitchen, designed as the heart of the home, enjoys a central location and is integrated into the leisure area, becoming a meeting point for family and friends.
In the living room, the double-height ceiling, the spiral staircase and the wine cellar harmonize to create a striking environment. In the outdoor area, the choice of few coverings contributes to a timeless aesthetic and avoids excesses. Glass doors control the integration between the interior and the patio, while the pool reinforces the visual connection between the spaces.
