Exposic_a_o-SER-MODERNO-03--MAP---Cre_dito-Jomar-Braganc_a When thinking about the charm and architectural richness of Pampulha, now a World Heritage Site, CASA COR Minas 2016 decided to go beyond the limits of the exhibition's headquarters and expand to two icons of the Architectural Complex: the Pampulha Art Museum and the Casa do Baile . Originally designed to be a casino, the iconic building of the Pampulha Art Museum opens its doors to the exhibition “Ser Moderno” (Being Modern) , co-curated by architect Pedro Lázaro and Priscila Freire. The exhibition seeks to translate, in a dialogue between architecture, art and design, based on specific symbologies and creative processes: the nature of the modern movement in its synthesis, the influences that motivated it and provided its content and its developments up to the contemporary environment. Exposic_a_o-SER-MODERNO---MAP---Cre_dito-Jomar-Braganc_a Using part of the MAP collection, the criteria for curating the exhibition are in line with the Brazilian modern ideal and are established with works of art, furniture and design objects that have Brazilian culture as their main focus, the influence of the modernist movement and specific proposals for the Museum. Pieces by Oscar Niemeyer, Zanini de Zanine, Joaquim Tenreiro, Olavo Machado Junior, among many others, make up this rich and sensitive exhibition. As art and gastronomy mix well, during the month of September, the kitchen will be run by Buffet Bouquet Garni, which promises to offer new flavors, colors and aromas to visitors, operating during the day as a Café and at night as a Bistro. JBF1670 The Casa do Baile is another remarkable work of the Architectural Complex designed by Oscar Niemeyer. In the face of such virtuoso work, the design of the Casa do Baile Lounge , signed by architect and set designer Renata da Matta, proposes minimal interference, without noise. To achieve this, a simple but cozy environment was created, with ottomans, armchairs and friendly sofas, perfect allies for a place where contemplation becomes an immediate desire. In this sense, the space is an invitation to escape the routine to admire the sunset, reflect on a Sunday afternoon or even have an ice cream with friends.
