CASA COR Minas 2016 will have a prefabricated house!

Laminus House - BCMF - HOUSE COLOR Minas Gerais 2016

CASA COR Minas Gerais is scheduled to take place between August 22 and September 27 and is already full of new ideas, trends, innovations and paradigm shifts. One of the big news is a house in the show, which will be designed by the firm BCMF Arquitetos. This is an innovative and bold project: the professionals will build an industrialized house for the edition.

"Manufactured or prefabricated houses do not exactly enjoy a good reputation. In some gated communities, these structures are even prohibited since they are usually associated with cheap materials, with inferior standards of finishing, aesthetics and durability, with very rare exceptions" , they explain.

However, the firm's biggest challenge will be to venture into this endeavor and bring a model with new proposals and possibilities for using industrialized and prefabricated elements. BCMF will work on implementing a construction system developed by Laminus Engenharia.

Casa Laminus will have 230 m², distributed over just one floor. There will be three suites in total (one of which is a double suite, twice the size of the others), a TV room, living room, dining room, kitchen, and laundry area. , toilet, a mini-office, swimming pool and a garage with capacity for four cars. The model will basically consist of eight components (or modules) of standardized size (7 x 3 x 3m), which will be completed by other smaller and articulated components according to the geometry and orientation of the land. Balconies, terraces, swimming pools, pergolas and wide, recessed windows help to create transition areas and integrate the interior with the landscaping.

“For any architect, having a project built is always a satisfaction. In this sense, we see the CASA COR Minas event as a unique opportunity to investigate and materialize themes that interest us in some way. For us at BCMF, who have been working in recent years years, especially in large and complex projects, which take years to be built, it is an additional pleasure to see a project come to fruition almost instantly”, highlights Bruno Campos, from BCMF Arquitetos.

The interior spaces will be organized in a linear sequence starting from the main entrance. The distances between the blocks serve to establish a clear sectorization and guarantee natural light, air circulation and privacy between the “sectors”, also creating mini-patios that open onto the bathrooms of the bedrooms. The prototype will combine traditional materials (concrete, wood, aluminum, glass) with a contemporary aesthetic, with rigorous geometry, but with a stripped-down and informal arrangement.

The house will be built at Alameda das Latânias, 30 – São Luiz – Pampulha – Belo Horizonte. In addition to this, there is already a conventional house on this land and practically 70% of CASA COR Minas will be concentrated there.
