Responsible for the creation of
Copan and the National Congress ,
Oscar Niemeyer is one of the most important names in
modern architecture . Many of his projects have received worldwide attention, while others have not received as much visibility. With around
600 projects signed, it is almost impossible to know them all. With this in mind,
CASACOR selected some lesser-known projects that still bear the
mark and characteristic
aesthetics of this great master of architecture.

In
Goiânia , a cultural center named after Niemeyer was one of his projects that deserves to be remembered. It covers more than
26,000 m² and is divided into
four buildings that house a public library, the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Music Palace and a 36-meter pyramid of the Human Rights Monument. The buildings, all
geometric and covered in
smoked glass , reflect Niemeyer's architectural style.

Designed by Niemeyer, the casino is a majestic work built under the
Pampulha lake in Belo Horizonte (MG). The space was designed in the early
1940s to be an open space for dance, games and shows. It currently operates as the
Pampulha Art Museum (MAP) and is part of the Pampulha Architectural Complex.
Triangle Building
A building constructed in the center of São Paulo and
listed by Conpresp, the Triângulo Building has a unique shape – as the name suggests – and is one of the five buildings constructed by Niemeyer in the capital of São Paulo. In addition to being a
hidden work by Niemeyer, there is also a
tile mural signed by none other than the great artist
Di Cavalcanti , at the entrance to the building.
Itamaraty Palace

The National Congress is one of Niemeyer's
most iconic works , but it was not the architect's only construction on the political scene. The Itamaraty Palace, built in 1970, is especially notable for appearing to have been built on water. This masterpiece also marks the partnership between Niemeyer and the landscaping designed by
Roberto Burle Marx .
Headquarters of the Attorney General's Office
Rounded shapes and exposed concrete: just by looking at the Office of the Attorney General in Brasília, you can see signs of Oscar Niemeyer's trademark. The Office of the Attorney General is an area of almost
80 thousand m² , which has six building blocks.
