CASACOR Rio de Janeiro 2019. Hidden since the 1950s by the Perimetral, the Touring building was once again appreciated with the renovation of Praça Mauá and the 29th edition of CASACOR Rio. Designed by the Frenchman Joseph Gire and opened in October 1928, the building housed an access pavilion, ticket office and a three-story luggage storage area. From January 1929 onwards, it also housed a Touring Club office, which ended up giving the building its name. Until the 1940s, this was the building that welcomed travelers arriving in Rio. Whether they were statesmen, artists, immigrants or workers, they all passed through here. The wealthiest had access to a flowerbed that crossed the city on the large seafront avenue that connected the city center to Copacabana (and the Copacabana Palace).

CASACOR Bolivia 2018. Dating back to the 1960s, Quinta McKenney was chosen to host the 6th edition of CASACOR Bolivia. The house, located on Avenida Las Américas, has an area of 3,000 m², of which 700 m² are built. The property was built in the mid-1960s and has undergone changes and renovations since then. Among the original highlights are the almost 50 m² swimming pool, a pergola and approximately 10 gardens with species such as achachairu, avocado, tamarind, mango, coconut and others. The architecture of the “Quinta” is very characteristic of its postmodern period, bringing a mix of straight and curved lines and visual appeal, although it also includes classic elements, such as columns and large glass doors and windows.

CASACOR Rio de Janeiro 2015. In its 25th edition, for the first time, the Rio de Janeiro exhibition occupied a village with nine houses: the historic Villa Aymoré. Built in the early 20th century for the bourgeoisie of the time, the house had its moments of glory and, over time, was forgotten and abandoned. The site, which had ten semi-detached houses, had the last of them completely ruined. The rest of the properties were also in terrible condition. However, in 2010, Landmark Properties acquired the village and began a process of restoration and renovation of the site. In addition to the semi-detached houses, the building of the old Tourist Hotel, located at the entrance to the street leading to the Villa, was incorporated into the project; and a new one was built, the Baronesa Building, which took on the contours of the mountain and cobogós. A total constructed area of 9,000 m².

CASACOR Santa Catarina | Florianópolis 2019. On one side, the new multifunctional development Cidade Milano; on the other, the restored mansion where former governor Hercílio Luz (1860-1924) lived, a property listed as a historical heritage site. The 40 projects were distributed across these two locations and complement each other, in a bridge that connects the future and memories of the capital. Casa de Hercílio Luz was built in 1848 and belonged to the politician from Santa Catarina, who lived there until his death in 1924. At the time, the entire area around the square – known as Banco Redondo – was outside the urban perimeter, and the house was located on a farm. The property was listed in 2002, but only three years ago the restoration project was started by Milano Incorporadora, also responsible for the development built next door.
