Essere Gallery mixes antiques and contemporary pieces at CASACOR SP

Bringing back the imagery of old farmhouses , architects Bárbara Carvalho and Tide Junqueira, from Weiss Arquitetura , designed an intimate gallery at CASACOR São Paulo 2024 , located in the passageway to the bedrooms. Using antique elements, the Essere Gallery directs visitors’ gaze to the past — but without losing sight of the contemporary.

The 70 m² space features a central fireplace with a living room, which is divided on one side by a games table, and on the other, a home office space with a bar. The contemporary design of the furniture pieces inserts the proposal of the space into a current perspective: the items that refer to the past, such as antique objects and the skirt-and-blouse lining, dialogue with the more straightforward elements that reverberate modernity.

The aged-looking wallpaper creates a classic setting , reinforced by the low ceiling and the skirt-and-blouse-style lining. At the same time, soft lighting designed by Lucenera accentuates the works of art by contemporary artists who created the pieces exclusively for the space, including the duo from Arter Atelier, Isabella Forzza and Gabriel Nehemy.
