The official residence of the governors of the State of Minas Gerais, the
Palácio das Mangabeiras , located at the foot of the Serra do Curral, has become a
representative space for culture and leisure in the city of Belo Horizonte. Built from 1951 to 1955, the Palace presents itself as a harmonious place to unite art, nature, good cuisine with a unique historical, architectural and landscape heritage of the capital of Minas Gerais. And this is the place that has been hosting
CASACOR Minas since 2019. This year is no different: from August 9th to September 25th, the former residence of the state governors will once again host the 27th edition of the Minas Gerais show. , which this year has more than 50 environments, and among them, one of the most special is the
Deca Bathroom Room .
Designed by the partners and owners of
CLS Arquitetas Associadas , Erika Steckelberg, Graziela Costa and Kivia Costa, this space is a
true oasis . “We created a living space
that is fully integrated with the nature that surrounds it. The view around the house is beautiful, So, we created a place that would not harm all the beauty of the surroundings.”, comments architect Kivia Costa.
In the space, the professionals show that, even in a large urban center, it is possible to have an
unrestricted connection with nature and the calm it brings. “We designed a very minimalist space, where attention could be focused on the senses provoked by the nature around and within the space. In this way,
vision and
smell are stimulated, mainly, by the
beauty of the surrounding trees and hearing by the sound of the water falling into the environment promotes a
unique feeling of peace ,” explains Erika Steckelberg.
With the feeling of exhaustion caused by the pandemic, it is increasingly likely that people
will seek refuge in domestic life . People have increasingly found themselves with a constant need to
give shape to their own private infinity , a kind of
shelter for memories, passions and pleasures . And it is this “
Particular Infinity ”, the theme chosen by
CASACOR ’s exhibitions this year.
