Architect Rodolfo Consoli debuted at CASACOR São Paulo 2024 by designing Home Office , a 45 m² space integrated into a large apartment set up on the first floor of the show — which allowed visitors to have the experience of entering a complete residence. After the pandemic, working from home some days a week or even full time is no longer temporary. With this in mind, the project sought to create a comfortable, welcoming and visually light space . To achieve this objective, the architect invested in materials with varied textures, such as carpentry in MDF Carvalho Lyr, a new product from Duratex, finishes in Nuvolato marble with a light pink background and well-defined veins, upholstery with textured fabrics and porcelain flooring from Portinari, in a sand tone.

At the same time, bright colors appear in strategic points and break the monotony of this neutral base, such as the sofa upholstery in mustard velvet, the paintings and the rug with a maxi floral print, in shades of green, terracotta and mustard. “From the beginning, I didn’t want to use paint on the walls or ceiling. My intention was to use wood and mix it with natural marble, chromed metal and glass. I wanted a clean environment , but warmed up with colors and textures, especially in the upholstery fabrics,” says the architect.

To filter the external light and reflect the green of the trees on Alameda Santos , Rodolfo used horizontal wooden blinds, which also create a cozy office. Another feature that helps reinforce this feeling is the indirect lighting behind the wood panel, projected towards the ceiling and floor to the niches in the bookshelves.

The decor follows a contemporary style , punctuated by vintage pieces found at Galeria Teo, with highlights including the Maralunga sofa, designed by Vico Magistretti for Cassina in the 1970s, the MP-71 armchair, created by Percival Lafer, the Commander work chair, launched by Jorge Zalszupin in the 1960s, and the work table with a chrome tubular base and glass top. Among the contemporary productions of signature design , the architect mentions the reissue of the Kid armchair, created by Zanine Caldas in the 1950s, and the Miniatura wooden chest of drawers, created by George Nelson also in the 1950s and currently produced by Herman Miller. The art curation was carried out by Adriana Jacob, who selected colorful works, such as the concrete-style canvas by artist Luis Sacilloto and the five paintings that explore the concept of symmetry and contrasting colors, created by artist Jandyra Waters.
