Biophilia , a concept that connects people to nature to promote physical and emotional well-being, is the starting point for Refúgio da Chef Indígena , a project by Thaís Alves for CASACOR Ribeirão Preto 2023 . More than that, this delicious refuge was inspired by a very special character: Kalymaracaya, from the Terena people , one of the first indigenous chefs recognized in Brazil.

I wanted someone who was truly connected to nature . So I created a refuge for her, a little piece of her old home, so she could have contact with her ‘land’ in the middle of the big city,” explains Thais.

To create the new home, Thaís used clay brick cladding and the Velvet (Coral) texture in the Greek culture color, creating a welcoming feel.
