Ximene Villar - Body and Home Loft - CASACOR Espírito Santo 2023. (Camila Santos)
An invitation to connect, to welcome, to cherish emotional memories and to sophistication. This is how the Loft Corpo & Morada can be summed up, an environment designed by architect Ximene Villar , at CASACOR Espírito Santo 2023 .
Designed to highlight the importance of the home as a refuge and sanctuary, the space, which bears the same name as the theme of the exhibition, tells a story through the poetry of the professional's grandmother, creating an atmosphere of well-being where the body finds shelter and renewal.

With 113 m², the project – with a view of the sea – highlights Brazilianness with great sophistication and integration of the spaces . To achieve this, the architect explores the interaction between organic elements and natural materials, such as the warmth of wood, the refinement of natural rock, the lightness of curved lines, and the predominance of natural plants of Brazilian species, bringing freshness and the positive impact of biophilia.

The furniture designed by Sérgio Rodrigues , together with a contemporary touch by designer Jader Almeida , and the works of art by various Brazilian artists, with meticulous curation by Matias Brotas , harmoniously compose the project, with antique pieces, poems and works from the collection dialoguing with contemporary artists and design pieces that translate the bonds that build each one.

In addition to a historic work by the renowned Juarez Machado, one of the highlights will be a xylotheque of bottles by artist Fernando Papagaio . Celebrated as one of the greatest DJs of Rio's nightlife, the artist explores the depths of Brazil by transforming his investigations into the use of wood into works of art.

The Loft features open spaces that interact with each other, carefully designed lighting, and the use of finishes and textures that stimulate and immerse the senses. For the architect, this was one of the main concerns when designing the space.

“We sought to create a synergy between the human body and the living space , offering a welcoming, functional and healthy environment, where every detail reveals the essence of each person’s home. Our challenge was to create an environment that would inspire visitors to live life more intensely,” explains the architect.

On this journey through the senses, touch is stimulated by textures, vision by works of art and lighting. The sense of smell is surprised by an essence from the expert on the subject, Tânia Bulhões , with an immersive and unique aromatizer for this Loft . Hearing finds personalized sound, through voice, music and messages, which create a guided tour of the space, with soft sounds of rain and birdsongs that caress the spirit and induce relaxation. And the palate is also sharpened with tastings that will awaken new taste sensations.

For the architect, all these elements are fundamental, as they are present in our homes. "The Loft Corpo & Morada is more than an exhibition space, it is an experience that evokes emotions , connects people, celebrates the beauty of natural forms, it is the refuge of the body and the home", concludes Ximene.
