Pausa Pátio , the entrance to CASACOR Rio 2023 , is a 150 m² space designed by landscaper Ana Veras to be, essentially, a place for relaxation and contemplation.
The project started with an existing central fountain (in marble, in a classical style), which was surrounded by a new structure (made of cement slabs with a texture similar to corten steel) to take on the function of a “ square bench ”, with taller planters in two corners.

The floor was covered with raw concrete slats, made individually in wooden forms, delimited by a narrow strip of grass that helps to break the “hardness” of the material.
The layout of the space also has two lounges comfortable chairs designed by Mauricio Bomfim, Marta Manente and Ibanez Razzera , produced with 100% recycled material, as well as tables that support the piano bar.

“We designed an impressive and welcoming space, where the public can also enjoy the view of Christ the Redeemer ,” says Ana. “The cozy lighting, the scent of flowers and fruit trees, the presence of the water element and the sound of the fauna that lives there all contributed to creating a very special atmosphere , while also stimulating several of our senses,” she adds.

Among the plant species in the courtyard, the landscaper used jabuticaba trees, bouganvilles, pitanga trees, triallis, philodendrons, bromeliads, papyrus and elephant ears. On the tables, delicate arrangements of mini swords, fire sticks, pink ripsalis and orchids.
To top it off, the space also gained four sculptures in marble and granite connected by brass rods, of different scales, which are part of the Equilíbrio series, by visual artist Marina Ribas.
