The curved lines of architect
Oscar Niemeyer and the fluid forms of landscaper and visual artist
Roberto Burle Marx meet at
Estar Origens , a project that
Studio Guilherme Garcia presents in this edition of
CASACOR Santa Catarina in Florianópolis.
In
160 m² , the largest indoor space in the exhibition, the architect delved into the
Brazilian nature of the two icons of national architecture and landscaping to design a living room that encompassed
some of the artists' most famous and referenced works .
“When I talk about origins,
I also recall my history and my hometown , Criciúma, where the textile and coal industries thrive. The project follows the concept of
curved concrete , the mix of textures and the homage to national design”, says Guilherme.
The lighting design was designed by
lighting designer Waldir Junior , who created the graphic design for the entrance hall, welcoming visitors. The feminine shapes of the Cicillo Matarazzo Pavilion, also known as the Bienal Pavilion, in São Paulo, inspired the organic lines of the walls. The angled brises that are part of the Palace of Justice in Brasília illuminate the side wall. The cylindrical bookcase made of ironwood was inspired by the Hotel Nacional in Rio de Janeiro and holds more than five thousand scrolls, as well as decorative objects.
Three classic works by Niemeyer stand out in the space .
Near the large side windows, which overlook the sea, there is a
small living room , with a sofa by Studio Ambientes; a Morfa table by Arthur Casas; and a Cuca armchair by Zanini Caldas, illuminated by the Bailarina wall light by Waldir Junior.
Measuring eight meters in length, a
large curved ironwood table was designed by the firm and inspired by the gardens of Burle Max. The table occupies the central area of the room,
delimiting the bar and dining space , with chairs in bic blue, by Giácomo Tomazzi.
In fact, Estar Origens reinforces the concept of timeless and raw architecture, with the use of
natural stones and fabrics, pau ferro in the furniture and tones ranging from gray to black , but with a common color point, blue, which also appears in the home office artwork. The space features ceramic installations by the artist Mitushi.
"
Brazil is made of a mix, of style , from the contemporary to the avant-garde, which I present here. The choice of loose furniture proposed by new generation designers, such as Jader Almeida, Giácomo Tomazzi, Lucas Rechia, Roberta Banqueri, Marcelo Ligieri, Arthur Casas, contrasts with giants, such as Sérgio Rodrigues, Bernardo Figueiredo and Zanine Caldas", explains Guilherme.
