For his seventh participation in CASACOR São Paulo, the Bahian architect Nildo José signs the Casa Coral Celeiro Alvorada, a project created for Coral that emerges as a tribute to his father, who passed away in 2022, and to rural Brazilian identity.

The name of the space comes from the idea of "celar," to safeguard and care for what matters, and it is also inspired by Parque da Água Branca itself, whose origins are linked to agriculture and which celebrates 30 years of historic preservation in 2026.

For Coral, the selection of colors guides the visitor along a visual and emotional journey. "Colors are no longer just a finish and now build connections and warmth. The proposal also reinforces how special effects and textures are gaining more and more prominence in contemporary projects, bringing depth and personality to spaces," says Priscila Perez, Color and Relationship Manager for Decorative Paints at AkzoNobel, manufacturer of Coral. "This is yet another great project in which we are able to show how color on walls and ceilings changes the atmosphere of a project. It exercises our perception and lets us experience how color adapts to the most varied styles," she adds.

Right at the entrance, a blue gallery serves as an antechamber to the main project. In the Azul Imponente shade, applied with Coralit Total Base Água, the space introduces the path conceived by Nildo José.

Throughout the visit, the palette unfolds in different intensities. The Caramelo Suave tone appears on the walls and ceiling with the new Coral Granos effect, which reproduces the appearance of natural stones and contributes to the sense of depth in the space. The Montanha Distante color, applied with Decora Matte, tints baseboards, crown moldings, and architectural volumes, harmonizing with the brick floor by Lepri.

The highlight is the helical staircase painted in the Tapeçaria Renascentista color. Positioned in front of the Evviva woodwork, the piece connects the two levels of the double-height project and, with its aubergine tone, reinforces the sculptural character of the composition, establishing a counterpoint to the predominant earthy tones.

From there, the visitor enters the impressive library with 4,000 volumes, all sourced by the architect and his team in secondhand bookstores and bookshops.

The monumental structure is the focal point of the project, while the details carefully selected by Nildo reveal its most intimate aspect. Among the shelves, photographs, poems, and personal objects help reconstruct memories of his father — elements that ended up moving many CASACOR visitors.

The fireplace incorporates references to the rural universe, such as birds, cattle prods, and other symbols linked to memories of his father. Integrated into it, the bar was also shaped from the same stone.

Next, a curved wall leads to the private area, where the Saibro shade, applied with Decora Matte, helps create an atmosphere of calm. The space includes a bed, an armchair, artworks, and a workstation.

Finally, in the bathroom, natural ventilation and the constant presence of the outdoor greenery reinforce the sense of retreat, complemented by a bathtub installed next to the window.
