Living green to live well: Elo Studio is part of Janelas CASACOR SP

Stop, breathe, reconnect. In difficult times, it’s normal to put self-care on the back burner and have less and less time to check in with yourself. Not at Estúdio Elo – here, the enveloping materials with a Zen aesthetic allow for rest. and reconnection with the home. The energy of the composition comes – literally – from nature. Ticiane Lima , the architect responsible for the Janelas CASACOR São Paulo project, created a green roof for a container that captures and transforms solar energy through photovoltaic panels. For Ticiane, in the world of architecture, well-being and good living are closely related to the inclusion of vegetation in homes. Thus, she invited landscaper Flávio Abílio to create a terrace full of green energy. "The pandemic has turned the house into a fragile crystal ", reflects Ticiane "to strengthen it, we need a good dose of self-knowledge, unity and respect for the planet”. The Elo Studio project was born from the architect's curiosity about a work by the artist Ricardo Bueno , called Elo. In it, two brass forms are joined together inside a glass casing, reflecting an imaginary void and supporting each other within the delicate space. In the analogy, the house represents the fragile crystal, since, in such an adverse moment, it assumed a more sensitive and affectionate character – after all, the house became, for all of us, a refuge from the world.

Compact, the container combines three areas – bedroom, bathroom and kitchen – separated only by a wooden lattice, a permeable element that delimits the spaces without sealing them, allowing ventilation to circulate freely. To encourage a moment of meditation, the bed was left low. , while the bathing area gained an expressive stone wall. The container is located in Praça Vinicius de Moraes, in Morumbi, São Paulo; and can be seen in more detail here .
