Wood from floor to ceiling transforms CASACOR project into a cozy home

Architect Mariana Leão made her debut at CASACOR Bahia 2024 in grand style and very inspired by the theme " De Presente, o Agora ". She designed the HOGAR environment , a space that translates the concept of home as a place that not only shelters, but welcomes, tells stories and transmits a unique sense of belonging. The 63 m² allocated for the creation of the space were very well used in a spacious and connected living room. Eschewing minimalism, HOGAR highlights the uniqueness of each detail, creating an environment that exudes the "soul" of those who live there. The inspiration for the project comes from the very meaning of the word "HOGAR", which in Spanish means "home", that is, a place simple in its form and rich in details , built over time, in the memories and experiences that are accumulated. “The Home welcomes, invites family gatherings and rescues something that is so basic to homes, but which has been lost: the feeling of belonging, of particularity”, comments the architect. Materials such as wooden flooring, wooden panels , mirrors and a variety of fabrics were carefully chosen to compose the environment, creating a welcoming atmosphere rich in textures .

The architect also showed that she masters authorial design, and displayed some pieces that were designed exclusively for the show, such as the stone tables that accompany the island sofa. HOGAR also brings an innovative proposal by using fabrics to cover walls and ceilings , promoting a super interesting mix between materials. The choice of furniture reflects this search for flexibility and timelessness, with loose and adaptable pieces that are not "tied" to the structure of the environment, allowing for a dynamic and spontaneous composition.
