In this living room full of textures that invite you to live well,
Mariana Maisonnave sought to create an atmosphere of comfort where you can rest and breathe safely. Hence the name of the space,
Respiro , which takes on a new meaning in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The space appears in this edition of
CASACOR Santa Catarina | Florianópolis with a reflection on the act of breathing, the need to pause and become aware of the need to find balance. Thus, the
integrated environment fulfills all the functions of a
gourmet living room , uniting living room, dining room and kitchen, with the difference that here comfort is the watchword.
With a contemporary style, the 52m² space was
designed for family and friends to get together . An integrated environment, without excesses, that provides comfort and a feeling of lightness.
“We are all in a fast-paced world, so full of information, that it is difficult to filter what is really important. Some experiences seem to come to show us the need to pause and become aware – to take a breath – to find balance and
what is essential for us: being with those we love ”, summarizes Mariana.
And as the key to good living,
minimalism appears, translated into the presence of essential pieces, geometric lines and neutral colors, where comfort and freshness meet.
The environment was designed to offer a
complete sensory experience to the visitor. Thus, an
olfactory identity was developed for the environment, an aroma resulting from a mixture of essential oils designed to awaken relaxation and activate the respiratory tract. The soundtrack was also designed with affection, with a selection of songs that activate affective memory.
The environment also has a
special meaning : the inspiration for the entire concept comes from a tribute to Maisonnave's father, who overcame COVID-19, breathing again after being in a coma for a few days due to the disease.
Also noteworthy is the artwork developed especially for the space by ceramic artist
Mitusha . The sofa, also designed especially for the space, was designed by
Studio Ambientes . One of the leading names in Brazilian design,
Guilherme Wentz , is the author of the Argola coat rack, Adobe floor lamp and vases resting on the table, Narcissus, also present in the space.
“The Respiro space brings an interpretation of the
affective memories of our childhood and the times of long family life . Memories that are solidified with the use of materials that are a reinterpretation of elements seen in our grandparents’ old house, such as
terrazzo and straw. natural, but in a totally contemporary, light and uncomplicated way”, analyzes Mari.
