The initiative is in line with Vazio S/A principles, such as dialogue with nature and the appreciation of collective spaces . Those who are in no hurry will get lost between the pillars, those who want to play will climb through the metal grate, and those who want to observe it from afar will see an object that is sometimes closed, sometimes open, sometimes ajar. But the Labyrinth is not to be seen from afar and is not a sculpture : it invites experience with its textures and the play between regular/irregular elements.
The office's interest in playgrounds is part of a broader project, which includes the construction of leisure-oriented spaces in public institutions , such as an Association for the Protection and Assistance of Convicts (APAC), located in Santa Luzia, in the Metropolitan Region of Belo Horizonte. “I find it curious that architects generally don't investigate the playground 's potential much. It is not a typology considered noble, but it should be, because we are working with a structure that will improve the condition, for example, of a project that helps reintegrate this convicted person into the job market. It is a positive contribution of architecture to society . It would be a playground for both those recovering and their children”, reinforces the architect.
