The project by Bruna Dória Interiores for CASACOR Bahia 2023 is called Galeria de/para Gabriela , but to make it easier, it was nicknamed Nossa Galeria . The goal is to present trends to the market, inspired by CASACOR 's own purpose.

"We sought to base the project concept on a global understanding of trends. Our gallery proposes a critical approach, suggesting a reflection on excesses . For example, the construction industry is already at its limit in terms of waste production," the professionals explain.

The office chose to use reused materials , ranging from the flooring to the fabrics that finish the carpentry, with the aim of guiding people on how reuse can be carried out consciously.

"In the gallery, we chose to reuse a window with beveled glass, typical of Brazilian homes from the second half of the 20th century, found in the SSA Archive. This window will certainly bring back fond memories for those who lived in Brazil during the 1980s and 1990s," they say.

Another guideline for the gallery was to break down barriers between art and design, poetry and information, beauty and ugliness. "We decided to intentionally leave one of the walls in the space peeling , with the aim of conceptually revealing the beauty of the imperfect," explains the office. Here another facet of the project appears: to present the many layers of photographer Gabriela Daltro's original work.
