Gabriela Eloy - Angatu Cabin. CASACOR Rio de Janeiro 2023 Project. (André Nazareth)
A house in the mountains with hotel infrastructure , fully integrated with the surrounding nature. This is how architect Gabriela Eloy defines Cabana Angatu , a 90 m² space in the shape of a box, with large glass panels instead of walls, designed by her for CASACOR Rio 2023 .

“ Angatu is a Tupi-Guarani word that means well-being, happiness and good soul ”, explains the architect.

The project was designed to stimulate introspection and connection with our essence , and to achieve this, the architect made use of natural elements, such as wood, stone, water, fire and, of course, the abundant vegetation that exists.

The curved design and organic shapes were also heavily explored in the furniture, carpentry, lighting and main rug in the room – to increase the feeling of comfort, coziness and fluidity of the spaces.
For the same reason, the décor's color palette ranges from natural tones of off-white , beige, olive green and gray, with touches of terracotta, present in the porcelain flooring, clay tiles with a rustic finish, loose pebbles, wooden linings, cobogós and cotton, linen and leather upholstery.
