Designers who like to surpass their own achievements can often come across a categorical challenge of the profession: after all, how to create a truly democratic space, one that appeals to anyone? After four years,
Fernando Piva returns to
CASACOR São Paulo with the purpose of successfully answering the question.
Estúdio Plural focuses on new ways of living, and as its name suggests, it is built on the idea of plurality. Thus, it fits any profile and aims to cater to a diversity of audiences, ages and tastes. .
Functionality and comfort were the premises for the creation of a generous living room, which dominates most of the 89 m². Fernando prioritized well-being, practicality in everyday life and the use of materials that bring a sense of refuge and that encourage contact. In this way, different textures make up the coverings, furniture and finishes.
The office and a bar complete the living room, colored by greenish, beige and gray tones. Filled with classic pieces, such as the Mole armchair by
Sergio Rodrigues and the Milhazes chair by
Bernardo Figueiredo , the space is also shared with pieces by
Jader Almeida ,
Arthur Houses and the Dina armchair by
Fernando Mendes , revealing a very careful and detailed curation. “I always highlight national design in my projects, mixed with international references”, he says.
The space also has a bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. “I wanted to keep the bedroom as an exclusive space for resting, relaxing and sleeping, leaving the other functions to the other spaces,” he explains. “My work is contemporary, with references to the 40s and 50s. I like to move between the most diverse styles. That is why I want, with Estúdio Plural, to bring a project that can contemplate current life and new ways of living.”
