Architect, activist and president of the Fazendinhando Institute , Ester Carro debuts at CASACOR São Paulo 2023 with an environment full of references to her history, going right to the heart of her origins to rescue memories of her life in the Jardim Colombo community, which is part of the Paraisópolis Complex, West Zone of São Paulo.

His project, called “ MOTIRÕ ”, is a space for those who fight for their lives to speak out, to raise awareness about living in the outskirts of the city and to provide power that refers to ancestral skills. In Tupi-Guarani, the term refers to “ a gathering of people to harvest or build something together, helping each other ”.

The environment, which brings the concept of fighting for the whole, is described as a synonym of hope, "because each detail and intervention was created with the future in mind, with the care and adaptations that contemporary living requires . MOTIRÕ feeds the body, inspires the soul and promotes the reuse of materials, connecting in a simple way to nature. Ultimately, it is color that gives life", according to Ester.

Recovering its ancestry from indigenous culture, the space offers an educational perspective, especially for those who live in small houses on the outskirts of the city, with solutions that can make families' daily lives easier . In addition to celebrating the partnership with CASACOR – which began three years ago, in 2020 –, the MOTIRÕ space also summarizes the work carried out at the Fazendinhando Institute, housing sustainable techniques such as the collection and reuse of rainwater and the use of reclaimed cladding made from other materials.

Among the highlights is the application of part of the coverings by Fazendeiras , women trained by Fazendinhando projects. In addition, Waxamani Mehinako , an indigenous artist who values and rescues nearly extinct graphics, is also present in the space with exclusive panels installed in the large carpentry area where a home office area, a storage space and the kitchen area converge. The piece, designed for community homes, was created in partnership with Estúdio Claudia Moreira Salles , Estúdio Buriti and Tintas Coral . Other furniture items were designed by the architect herself, some of them executed in partnership with Oficina 64, always thinking about the challenges of community homes , where space is limited and distribution is difficult.
