Jeferson Branco always generates high expectations for his participation in
CASACOR Santa Catarina . His
visceral and
creative profile creates environments of pure emotion: and it is no different in
t3chno.DELTA , his latest project developed at the Santa Catarina exhibition in Balneário Camboriú. Impactful and original, the project marks the 29-year-old architect's third participation in the exhibition – the last one, in 2021, with a
project inspired by “grandma's house” . This time, he invites the public to question the
impacts of technology on their lives while strolling through a swamp.
In an area of 100m², the architect transformed the bar in the
CASACOR 2023 social space into a vast delta of questions. According to Jeferson, “it is a reminder that the swamp is also a place of innovation and discovery, a
humorous blend between biophilia and high-tech , the duality between ancestry and futurism, raising questions about where we came from and where we are going”.
“The theme proposed by the exhibition makes us seek another path between the body, the space it occupies and technological extension. We know that technologies, if used well, invert this order currently understood with the replacement of the human by the machine. It is human nature to create, this repertoire today algorithmized in the clouds, often used to manipulate behaviors and opinions.
We need to restore people's autonomy in life ", says the architect.
In this space, Jeferson encourages us to think about a model that encourages the
use of technology only when really necessary , since life happens under the same soil with its irreversible impacts. The concept is not about stigmatizing technological empowerment, but rather
about prioritizing its place in daily life and for the benefit of humanity. In this way, the architect balances the ambivalences that the issue still gives rise to.
