CASACOR SP: Senses Hall Deca mixes contemporary and oriental minimalism

It is from experiences that go beyond what is usual for us that we establish other parameters for what we expect to experience in our daily lives. Thus, with new perspectives, homes have been transformed into spaces of refuge and relaxation, whether in their fullness or in smaller scale. At Senses Hall Deca , Roberto Migotto brings a space of calm to urban life for CASACOR São Paulo 2022. In 560 m², contemporaneity meets oriental minimalism in a sober palette, present in crockery, metals and accessories that blend with wood clear and slightly rustic coatings. The large structure, divided into three sectors with different levels, was designed to create a sensory experience for the mind and body. The immersion begins with a garden of bamboo, pebbles and coal, introducing the visitor to a place of refuge. Upon entering, visitors are faced with a ramp covered in the Vulcan Portinari collection - developed exclusively for the project and applied to the flooring of all spaces and benches -, which is marked by a portico covered in Shou Sugi Ban Nero Castelatto architectural concrete. , which refers to charred wood. Further ahead, a large central water mirror receives the same covering pattern and gains suspended decorations with the new Slim Deca sinks that bring natural lightness to a floating garden . Cylinders covered in dried moss help to create a welcoming space. In the living room , on the right, a tea room reinforces the welcoming and interactive feel. In it, sinks, metals and kitchen accessories by Deca bring functionality and aesthetics to the details. . At the back is the bathing area and bathrooms. In addition to the showers, visitors will find a hot tub there. The punctual and directional lighting creates an extremely intimate atmosphere, which fosters the idea of a refuge isolated from external torments. “I am very happy to have been invited to this 35th anniversary edition, held in such an important building for architecture as the Conjunto Nacional. There are more than 20 participations in CASACOR , this being the third for Deca . Without a doubt, a project very special”, says Migotto.
